Mental Health and Addictions Project Assistant
Full-time Contract – 12 Months (with possibility of extension)
Salary: Commensurate on Experience
Location: Remote (Within Sudbury – Sault Ste. Marie)

The opportunity: Maamwesying is inviting applications for a highly skilled Project Assistant to provide administrative, coordination, and project management support to the Project Management Specialist for Mental Health & Addictions) to assist in meeting strategic objectives.
Qualifications:
● Minimum of one (2) year Diploma in an Office Administration field, from an accredited college.
● Minimum of two (2) years experience working in an administrative assistant role within a health care environment.
● Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
● Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines with minimal supervision.
● Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate focus groups.
● Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365 software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook) and Google Drive is required.
● Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information.
● Knowledge of and interest in the health issues affecting Indigenous people.
● Demonstrated sensitivity to and knowledge of Indigenous cultural values and traditions, as well as a keen interest in Indigenous Health.
● Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
● Ability to travel across Northeastern Ontario as needed.
● The ability to speak Ojibway language is an asset.
● Successful criminal records check is required.
● Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours as required.
What to expect? Given the traditional practices of Indigenous people, from time-to-time exposure to smoke from the burning of sacred medicines such as tobacco, sweet grass, sage, or cedar may occur.
