Cutler, ON, July 31, 2025 – The Maamwesying Ontario Health Team (MOHT) is moving forward with our Indigenous Cultural Safety Program. For our next step, we are giving the program a strong visual identity to inspire, improve recognition, and attract attention to this work.
The Indigenous Cultural Safety Program goals are:
- To build cultural safety as a pillar for Indigenous patients and their families
- To address training needs identified by our communities and OHT partners
- Reduce health disparities and combat anti-Indigenous racism
We are delighted to see this continuing project come to life for our Patients, Partners, and ourselves.

The Maamwesying Ontario Health Team is excited to announce that our Indigenous Cultural Safety (ICS) program is seeking your help in picking a logo! Our goal is to create a healthcare system where everyone feels respected, safe, and heard. A big part of this is creating a visual identity that truly represents our communities and values. We have worked with a designer to create three beautiful logo options, and now we need your help to choose the final one! Each logo is inspired by the land, our culture, and the spirit of working together.
Please read the descriptions below and vote for the logo that you feel best represents our shared vision for Indigenous Cultural Safety.

Logo Option 1
This logo uses a circular design, which in our cultures represents the interconnectedness of all life and the cycles of nature. The prominent tree symbolizes life, growth, and deep-rooted connection to the land. The circle is segmented to showcase different aspects of the natural world—the forest, the water, the sky, and traditional plant life—reflecting a holistic view of health.

Logo Option 2
This logo features a stylized branch with leaves, symbolizing growth, life, and the healing properties of nature. The upward reach of the branch represents the journey towards wellness. The leaves are arranged in a way that suggests community coming together, aligning with the meaning of “Maamwesying,” which translates to “working together.”

Logo Option 3
This logo presents an organic shape that contains elements of the natural landscape, including leaves, water, and land. This imagery speaks to the importance of the land and its medicines in our cultures and well-being. The gentle curves and overlapping forms suggest harmony, balance, collaboration, and the integration of different elements to create a whole.
